My name is Lismar Alvear and I'm from Colombia. I moved to Perth in February 2023 to study English. Before coming here, I was living in Colombia and working as an engineer for an international company. I had always wanted to study abroad and gain experience in another country, and Perth seemed like the perfect place to do that.

My name is Reena Varsani, and I’m originally from Nairobi, Kenya. Before moving to Perth, I was living in London, UK, where I studied a foundation certificate in business, law, and social sciences. I’ve always been passionate about helping people, and I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to make a meaningful impact in the community.

The award winning Bentley Pines Training Restaurant at Bentley campus recently had a major upgrade. 

The renovated kitchen features modern viewing windows that let diners see TAFE students and lecturers in action. It also has state-of-the-art, large scale kitchen equipment and facilities.

What you were doing before moving to Perth as an international student?

I’m MJ from the Philippines. Back in the Philippines, I studied Professional Culinary Arts, and I’ve always dreamed of becoming a professional chef and owning my own restaurant someday.
