Ezra’s Pride: Sharing Thai hospitality with the world

Hi, I’m Ezra from Chiang Mai, Thailand. Before coming to Australia, I worked as an administrative assistant at Payap University. I also helped with my family’s small business, where we made and delivered homemade fresh bread to local restaurants, cafés, and shopping centres. It was a great experience working with my family and learning the ins and outs of running a small business.

What course did you choose?

I studied the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management at Bentley campus. The best part about the course is having the chance to learn from professional chefs and highly experienced lecturers. They really know their craft and are great teachers. Plus, as an international student, I get to meet classmates from all around the world. Sharing different cultures and perspectives is something you just can’t find anywhere else, and it makes the whole experience special.

How have you found the facilities on your campus so far?

The facilities at the campus are really good, and what I appreciate the most are the lecturers. They’re not only experts in hospitality but also very supportive and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds. They treat everyone equally and are always ready to help, whether it’s with studies or personal issues. The hands-on practical training and simulated work environments make learning engaging and useful.

What career path are you planning to pursue?

I plan to continue developing my family business. I want to study more about business to gain new knowledge and skills that will help me grow our small homemade bread business into something bigger and better in the future.

How long have you been living in Perth?

I’ve been living in Perth for three years now. It’s been an amazing experience. I love how relaxed and welcoming the lifestyle here is. The city is beautiful, with great beaches and lots of opportunities to explore. Living here isn’t just about studying; it’s about growing as a person, meeting new people, and embracing a new culture every day.

Do you have any advice for students who are considering studying a course like yours at TAFE?

I would recommend TAFE to anyone thinking about studying in Australia, especially for hospitality courses. The training is excellent, with amazing chefs and lecturers who really care about students’ success. If my family or friends asked me, I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest TAFE because of the quality of education and the supportive environment.

Is there anything else you would like to share?

I am truly honoured to have the opportunity to share my story. As an international student, I take great pride in representing Thailand—the Land of Smiles—and showcasing its world-famous hospitality industry. It’s a privilege to highlight the warmth and kindness that make this country so special.
