I’m Angga from Indonesia, and worked at Pertamina, the Indonesian state-owned oil and gas corporation. Before I came to Perth, I finished my bachelor’s degree in business and management.
What course are you studying?
I’m studying the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management. I like the new experience of studying this course and also the lecturers are professional. They particularly understand that when we are not a native English speaker, they need to explain things to us very clearly and in an easy to comprehend way. I have found the industry connection opportunities awesome at Bentley campus because of the partnerships with big companies so that makes it easier to find a job, and also every year they hold a Career Expo event. It is a memorable experience to study here as I get to meet with people from many different countries and share our cultures.
How are the facilities on campus?
The facilities are great because they offer commercial kitchens and a training restaurant so that when we finish our course, we are ready to work in industry especially as each of our lecturers demonstrate how to cook in different styles.
Looking ahead, what’s next for you?
I want to be a professional chef in the future so that is why I chose to study this course. I am currently working at Crown Resorts Perth as a commis chef (junior chef) so I am actively working towards my goal.
How long have you been in Perth?
I have been in Perth for two years four months. The best thing I like about Perth is the nature, such as the forest, beaches and also the wild animals. I am an animal lover so for me that is an especially good thing about Perth.
Do you have any advice for future students?
If you would like to become a chef, or if you want to study hospitality management, you should come join us at Bentley campus because I think it is the best place to study hospitality courses. I will recommend it to my friends and family, because Bentley campus offers great facilities and professional lecturers.
