Which campus are you studying at?
I am located at TAFE’s Geraldton Campus and studying the ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology. I heard about the regional bursary for TAFE international students when I was applying as an international student at TAFE. I decided to apply because it I saw it was a great opportunity to help me financially and help fund my tuition fee.
How have you Enjoyed the course so far?
I have been studying for about eight months now. Studying here is very enjoyable because it involves more practical learning rather than theories. I will use this knowledge and qualifications for employment in the ICT sector in my future career.
How have you found the facilities at Geraldton campus?
The quality of the facilities here are really great and comfortable and it is really suitable for learning. One thing I love is the way they teach, they are really hands on. The lecturers try to connect real world scenarios in class.
How long have you been living in Geraldton?
I have been living here since December last year. Though I admit I miss home, I like it here because of the high quality of life compared to back home. My friends and I go to badminton every Monday evening to blow off some steam. The people here are very friendly so it is easy to find friends here. You can just talk to anyone and they will be your friend.
Have you found a part-time job?
I am working as a kitchen hand in an aged care facility. Working here is very challenging but very rewarding. If you work hard enough you will be fine.
Would you recommend the regional bursary to other students?
Yes, the only advice I can give to other international students is to get the bursary. The regional bursary will greatly help you cover some of your tuition fees so you can focus on your studies.
