Why choose this course?

Commence an exciting career in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry with this qualification. On completion of this course you will be competent in a wide range of ICT roles and apply a broad range of skills in varied work contexts, using problem solving skills and effective communication with others.

During your studies you will be introduced to programming concepts and apply this to Javascript, develop skills in working with clients and working collaboratively, and apply advanced critical thinking to work processes as well as cyber security risk management. You will gain digital media skills that include 3-D modelling and animation, 2-D interactive animations, storyboards, visual effects and graphic design.  In addition, you will implement projects across a range of browsers, platforms, devices and emerging technologies.

To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in 20 units. These 20 are comprised of 7 core units and 13 elective units. Elective units listed below have been selected in consultation with industry.

Students who enrol into this qualification will be eligible for credit transfer of the units that they have already achieved. Fees paid by international students are set on a commercial basis and are paid as a whole of course fee - no refund will apply to credit transfers. Assessment methods

The assessment methods used in this course are gathered via knowledge questions and projects. Knowledge questions gather evidence of the learner’s knowledge of the unit and the project assessments gather evidence of the learners’ skills and their ability to perform tasks to industry standards. The assessments will take place in the classroom under the supervision of the Lecturer/Assessor. The assessor will provide all resources and equipment the learner requires to complete the assessment. 

These assessment strategies and evidence gathering are in accordance with the relevant training package or accreditation guidelines. Detailed Information is available in the assessment matrix, learning plans and assessment tools for each of the units of competency. Assessors use this matrix to ensure assessments, are undertaken across the duration of the course, rather than clustered together at particular times.

Learning resources may include access to Blackboard, links to external resources such as YouTube, software including Adobe CC 2020 Suite, Microsoft Project, Collaborate Launcher, Google Chrome, IE 9, Mozilla Firefox and Office 365, PowerPoint presentations and learner guides.
