How to apply for a university pathway from TIWA to Edith Cowan University (ECU)

Pathway application conditions

  • The TAFE to ECU package pathway timeline is for the maximum period of 18 months' study at TAFE. This includes any period of English prior to the mainstream TAFE course.
  • TIWA is currently unable to receive requests for ECU packages for offshore students from the following countries: Nigeria, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
  • TIWA can receive requests for ECU packages from the following countries with some limitations: Bhutan, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Vietnam.

The ECU university pathway application process is agent-led, with the agents responsible for driving the pathway process.

Step one: Before you apply

Step two: Your education agent applies to TIWA

You need to provide the following for your agent to attach within the online application to TIWA.

You will need to notify TIWA Admissions on the proposed pathway you wish to take with ECU. From there if successful, TIWA will issue a conditional offer.

Step three: Your education agent applies to ECU

  • The education agent logs into the ECU Agent Portal;
  • As part of the updated pathway application process, there is an additional mandatory question at Application Step 5 (Additional Questions) where the agent is required to nominate the pathway commencement date and provide the TIWA pathway conditional offer;
  • Once the agent has uploaded the offer letter to the ECU agent portal, ECU Admissions will receive a notification and proceed with assessing the pathway application;
  •  If the application is successful, ECU will issue a conditional offer based on the successful completion of the course at TIWA; and
  • The conditional ECU offer must be reviewed by the student, and they must accept the ECU offer and the TIWA offer.

Step four: Accepting your university pathway offers from TIWA and ECU

To accept your ECU pathway offer, you need to complete these final steps:

  • Return your signed Acceptance Letters
  • Transfer the payment as requested in your TAFE Letter of Offer
  • Follow the steps in your ECU Letter of Offer to accept the ECU offer online at ECU My Uni Start(opens in a new tab)
  • Pay the AUD$2,000 tuition ECU deposit fee directly to TIWA
  • The student must provide a Statement of Account - Confirmation of Collection of ECU Fee Deposit (with a scheduled transfer date) to their agent for the agent to upload to the ECU agent portal.
  • ECU Admissions will proceed with issuing a conditional CoE, which will be sent to the agent for them to apply for the visa on behalf of the student.

Note that ECU does not start the genuine temporary entrance assessment phase until you accept your offer.

Timelines for application processing

  • To prevent unnecessary delays, please ensure all required documents are completed and included when submitting your applications to TIWA and ECU.
