Develop your knowledge to the level where you can plan and supervise construction sites, prepare costs and schedules for a contract, use current building codes and standards, understand the legal requirements of contracts and works, read and interpret plans and specifications, identify and produce estimated costs and manage occupational health and safety on construction sites. Acquire a diverse range of skills to be able to project manage and coordinate the overall construction of low rise residential and commercial buildings, which may involve selecting contractors, overseeing work and liaising with clients. There is no work placement requirement for this course, however students are required to complete CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry at any RTO to enable students to access construction sites.

To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in 19 units. These 19 are comprised of 11 core units and 8 elective units. Elective units listed below have been selected in consultation with industry.

Students who enrol into this qualification will be eligible for credit transfer of the units that they have already achieved. Fees paid by international students are set on a commercial basis and are paid as a whole of course fee - no refund will apply to credit transfers. All units of competency have two (2) or more assessments and practical project assessments may be completed during or outside of scheduled class time.

 

These assessment strategies and evidence gathering are in accordance with the relevant training package or accreditation guidelines. Detailed Information is available in the assessment matrix, learning plans and assessment tools for each of the units of competency. Assessors use the matrix to ensure assessments, are undertaken across the duration of the course, rather than clustered together at particular times.
