An Unforgettable Day for International Students from South Regional TAFE

Organised by South Regional TAFE and funded by StudyPerth, international students from South Regional TAFE enjoyed a memorable day trip south of Western Australia, exploring the region's stunning beauty and delicious food.

The students walked along the scenic pathway provided by the Ancient Lands Experience and climbed through the breathtaking Ngilgi Cave. The day continued with a delicious slice of pizza at Yallingup’s Swings and Roundabouts and finished with dessert at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory.

The students had an incredible time, forging new connections with their peers and celebrating the new and exciting environment they now call home.

A large group of international students, with 13 in focus, stands in a line on a bridge extending from the cave's entrance. They are all smiling and looking at the camera, with the line of students continuing out of view towards the back.

Here’s some of the feedback from the students:

"I loved the adventure we had at Ngilgi Cave. It's an astonishing piece of artwork by nature that holds part of Australia's history. Most importantly, I enjoyed the meals at Swings and Roundabouts. It was truly an incredible experience, and I appreciated the opportunity to socialise with other international students."

Natasha Sprigg, an employee at SRTAFE who joined the students on the day, shared:

"I personally thoroughly enjoyed the day as well. I feel like events like this make the new students feel truly welcomed. It also helps me support the students better by getting to know them in a relaxed social setting."

The young woman on the left holds a takeaway coffee cup, while the young man on the right has one hand in his jacket pocket and is making a peace sign with the other. They are inside a shop, with a display of various nougats, rocky roads, and chocolates behind them. In the distance, shelves are stocked with chutneys, sauces, and condiments.

Studying at a regional campus in Western Australia offers unique and exciting opportunities for students, enriching their education while showcasing the expansive and wondrous beauty of regional WA.
