The methods of assessment used in this course include theory or practical tasks, the evidence gathering techniques focus on knowledge-based assessments, research skills (take-home assessments), formal presentations, simulated work tasks (case studies), role plays and portfolio questions. The portfolio is a collection of questions and activities completed outside of class time each week, enabling students to practice, consolidate and demonstrate the skills gained in their weekly classes. Portfolios together with role plays demonstrate the ability to follow organisational policy and procedures and complete relevant workplace documentation.

These assessment strategies and evidence gathering are in accordance with the relevant training package or accreditation guidelines. Detailed Information is available in the assessment matrix, learning plans and assessment tools for each of the units of competency. Assessors use the matrix to ensure assessments, are undertaken across the duration of the course, rather than clustered together at particular times.
